Reads shipping orders to determine quantity and type of transportation needed.
Contacts carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for loading products.
Prepares customer orders for packing (address labels, shippers, picklists, and distributes to material handlers.
Prepares paperwork and calls carriers to consolidate loads.
Prepares paperwork and calls carriers for internal shipments to outside processors.
Prepares customs paperwork for export shipments.
Prepares bills of lading for shipments.
Enters data into computer.
Communicates with customers and customer service.
Follow all safety guidelines and applicable procedures.
Read, understand and follow the Job Safety Analysis (JSA).
Report any unsafe conditions or incidents in a timely manner to their supervisor or any member of management.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); shipping/receiving experience required.
