    Manchester Tank & Equipment Co. has been a trusted industry leader in the design and manufacture of steel and aluminum low-pressure DOT cylinders and ASME pressure vessels for the storage and transport of propane, chemicals, compressed air and other industrial applications since 1946. 

     

      We are currently recruiting for a Second Shift Production Supervisor. This postion reports directly to the Plant General Manager and is responsible for the supervision and coordination of production activities of production employees

     

    Summary - Supervisory Responsibilities                         

    Directly supervises 7 to 30 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include hand training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Enforce safety guidelines and applicable procedures. Review job safety analysis (JSA) with employees to ensure employee comprehension. Respond to unsafe conditions (either correct or contact Maintenance). Respond to all incidents within their department (Level 1 investigation). Shut down process if unsafe.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

    •  Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs setup and adjustments of machines.
    • Studies production schedules and estimates workers hour requirements for completion of job assignment.

    •  Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
    •  Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
    •  Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
    •  Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
    •  Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
    •  Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
    •  Maintains time and production records.
    •  Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
    •  Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
    •  Performs activities of workers supervised.
    •  Maintains and creates a safe working environment for all employees. Looks for opportunity to get employees involved in safety, environmental, process changes and overall improvement efforts.
    •  Evaluates and directs the sites environmental and safety program per policy.
    •  Enforce safety guidelines and applicable procedures.
    •  Review Job Safety Analysis (JSA) with employees to ensure employee comprehension.

    Education and/or Experience                         

    Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

     

    Language Skills                                  

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

     

    Mathematical Skills                            

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

     

    Reasoning Ability                               

    Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

     

    Computer Skills                                  

    Must be proficient in basic computer skills, Microsoft Word and Excel helpful.

     

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Must pass Manchester Tank's lockout/tagout certification requirements.

    May be required to pass Manchester Tank's forklift certification requirements.

    May be required to pass Manchester Tank's weld certification.
