    Summary: Plans, directs and coordinates the overall operations of the production departments. Manages equipment, machines and other resources efficiently in accordance with cost, quality and quantity specifications. Utilizes department superintendents to manage activities of workers.

    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include those listed below. Other duties may be assigned. This position is a full time (minimum 40 hours per week) on-site position.

     

    • Plans, directs and manages production departments and production activities to enhance achievement of goals and objectives in keeping with effective operations and cost factors.
    • Coordinates activities through subordinate supervisory personnel utilizing knowledge of product technology, production methods and procedures, and capabilities of machines and equipment.
    • Improves work methods and procedures to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
    • Revises production schedules and priorities to maximize efficiency.
    • Ensures production schedules are adhered to and ensures proper quality standards are maintained.
    • Fosters positive work relationships.
    • Observes and enforces all Company, housekeeping, safety and plant policies and procedures.
    • Has strong written, oral, communication and facilitation skills.
    • Works within budget constraints.
    • Trains, develops, mentors and assists subordinates.
    • Motivates and encourages teamwork among departments to ensure objectives are met.
    • Creates and maintains a culture of continuous improvement.
    • Addresses errors, problems and complaints within scope of authority.
    • Exercises final authority for the full range of personnel management matters and organization design proposals recommended by subordinate supervisors.
    • Keeps supervisor informed of important matters as they arise.

    Qualifications

    Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises Production Department Superintendents and indirectly supervises their direct reports. Carries out managerial and supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company’s policies, practices and procedures.   Responsibilities include planning and directing work; interviewing, hiring, rewarding and disciplining employees; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    Education and/or Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering or Industrial Technology required plus 7 years’ industrial manufacturing experience with 3 or more years’ managerial experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
